Kristen, My friend and I celebrated 66 years of friendship with an Amtrak package trip to Portland from North Station, Boston. The train ride was smooth and very pleasant on new seats with plenty of leg-room. Everything was as advertised-the hotel with complimentary breakfast, was very comfortable with excellent service. Having a pick-up and drop-off service to and from the hotel and train station made our trip easy.
This is our second “girls” trip on Amtrak and we are looking forward to the next one!

Kristen, My husband and I have just returned from the incredible two-day Downeaster Package.  We can not say enough about the total experience.  It was stress free.  Leaving North Station we were an easy walk to the Onyx Hotel.  The hotel personnel were welcoming.  Registration was simple.  The room was comfortable.  Continental breakfast was more than adequate.  Our seats at the Opera House were great.  The production beyond superb.  We, as senior citizens, cannot say enough good things about the total package and we are so delighted that we took advantage of it.

Our friends, my husband and I booked a trip to Nova Scotia starting in Portland, ME. When it came time to ferry to NS hurricane Fiona was landing in NS. Ferries wereDown. Overnight Steve turned our NS trip into a coastal Maine tour and we had a wonderful time. Great sites, accommodations, drivers and tour guides. Thanks for turning our disaster into a delight.

Some feedback. I’ve travelled all over, but I have to complement you on this trip has to be one of our all time favorites! Everything was excellent. My wife and I want to thank you for doing such a great job.

Hi Steve,

Just wanted to let you know that our trip was FANTASTIC! It was so nice to have everything arranged and locations were perfect. Weather didn’t cooperate with the boat rides but they were still nice. The food tour in Portland was one of our absolute highlights. We were with Jason. And ‘Ports of Italy’ definitely our favorite eating experience by far. Another fave would be the City and Lighthouse Tour. Eric even gave us a lobster buoy which we have hanging on our porch. Best souvenir ever. We will be reaching out again next year around the same time to try a couple of other new places and perhaps another day or two in Portland. We were surprised by how big it was.

We have returned from our trip and had a wonderful time. Everything was perfectly planned and worked well.  Everything was on schedule. All our drivers were prompt, extremely nice and knowledgeable of their area.  The tours arranged for us were lots of fun with guides full of information.  Thank you for your help in planning and arranging the trip.  We will definitely look for more Amtrak Tours in the future.

I had read about Portland, Maine in many blogs on how beautiful and must visit city it is in New England. I was really excited when I learnt there was a direct train from Downeaster Packages . This is my first travel in a year since the pandemic hit and I was very skeptical about the trip. It was such a pleasure to have Steven answer all my questions and help me make decisions during the bookings. The hotel arrangements and the tour additions were so much fun and a much needed vacation after a year. The city is so beautiful and the train trip is definitely must-do experience. We took a history tour around the city which we could book for a personal group (thanks to Steven). Overall I am so glad I did this. Thank you so for making this happen. Can’t wait to ride again!

We vacationed to Nova Scotia for a long weekend Sept. 7 through the 10th. Our contact person was Kristen who was alway very helpful, patient and attentive. She planned our trip thoroughly and efficiently and never have we experienced such great communications which made our trip very pleasurable.

When we ran into a problem, which was weather related and the CAT was cancelled we tried calling the agency. I knew Kristen would not be there since it was on a Sunday. The owner Steve called us back immediately and was very helpful. We were refunded without question all the remaining schedule events. ( Hotel. tour, CAT coming back, Driver picking us back up in Maine etc.)

I needed to write this review as I highly recommend this outfit totally. We without a doubt use them again and would recommend them.

Thank you so much for making our day trip to Boston a success! Though we didn’t get back until late, our day was wonderful and convenient. Thank you for going out of your way to make it happen for us! Can’t wait to ride again, so much easier than driving and the kids loved it!

We’ve been back home a week now and just returning to normal life back here in Australia. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and found all the accommodation great. I have wanted to see Maine and fall colors for thirty years.
Having never been in this part of the U.S. I decided to let Kristen book my trip! She booked an amazing journey for me. I loved all three hotels and towns I visited! I saw Bar Harbor-loved Jorden’s restaurant-Camden-Mariners restaurant-and Portland-D’Milos however there are too many great restaurants to choose from in that city!
I was met by drivers..toured beautiful places and experienced the area through the eyes of passionate Mainers! I appreciate Kristen’s hard work..it was a blissful trip! (I traveled alone and am a retired teacher just FYI )

I wanted to send a note to thank you for your coordination services for our group trip to the Hip Hop Nutcracker. Things could not have gone smoother! Between the train, dinner, picking up tickets at the box office, and then stepping out of the theater and directly onto the bus to take us to the train—and with not so great weather!

We had a blast and talked about making it an annual thing…with probably a bigger group as all of our friends said that they want to join us next time! Thank you for your services. And here is a picture of most of our group on the train down.

Recently my friend and I took your Downeaster Package to Portland, Maine. I want to tell you how extremely pleased we were with your service. We had a nice time at the gardens and the driver Phil was great. We like the Boathouse Bistro very much. The seafood was delicious and our favorite was the lite clam chowder. We could see the beautiful view of the entire harbour:). We wish we have more time to check out the vicinity. Thanks for your great suggestions. We would like to come back to Boothbay in future and perhaps check out the clam bake at Cabbage Island. Thanks for your excellent service and we will contact you next time we visit Maine.
